Important Updates |
We Need To Know Existing Immunization Education Efforts – National Registry of Cooperative Extension Programs & Assets (NRCEPA)The purpose of the NRCEPA is two-fold. Internally, it helps us to share as a system our programs, resources, and professional expertise by sharing what we are doing. We plan to highlight several programs monthly in a national webinar.
Externally, the registry is available to potential partners such Association of Immunization Educators (AIM), CDC Regional Representatives, and NAHOC. They are being encouraged to come to this website to coordinate and connect with what Extension is doing in their area. This is a major marketing opportunity to connect our health programs with potential partners. Help make those connections by posting your programs.
Everyone is invited to share….it does not have to go through one person. Entries from the county level for county specific programs as well as statewide programs should be entered. It is an open system and searchable by keywords and locations. We’d love to have what you are currently doing prior to CDC funding listed on the website as an example of what we have done with capacity funding related to COVID. |

What Items Can Be Included in the Budget?Thank you to those that attended the EXCITE application consult session yesterday. It was exciting for us to hear about what you are considering for Activity 1. You asked some great questions.
One in particular deserves some great clarification and that is around what items can be included in the budget. While Extension Foundation has few limitations on the budget items, you will have to operate within your approved expenditures within your institutions grants and contracts offices. We discussed items such as gift cards, food, medical equipment etc. There is nothing precluded in the grant that we are aware of, however, you will want to check on allowable expenditures within your grant and contracts office. For example, at my institution we are not able to provide food or eating at any of our outreach events (that is our institution COVID ruling at present). Your institution may have other restrictions, for example on amounts and abilities to provide gift cards. In summary, be sure to work through the proposed budget with your institutions grants and contracts offices as another check point on allowable expenditures. We standby ready to help you in your application for Activity 1. Our goal is to help everyone submit a successful application. Thanks for your involvement in this effort. |
