National Rural Health Day
November 17th is National Rural Health Day. The Extension Foundation and the CDC will be highlighting the EXCITE project across Twitter and other social media on Thursday for Rural Health day. The CDC tweets will direct people to our project map for more information, so if you get unexpected calls or emails at the end of this week, it might be related to this celebration. Soon we will be adding the project success story notes to the map and both your progress reports and success stories will appear on the map for easy access. Take a look at the map and see what parts of your reports are being reflected on the map information. Also, we encourage you to follow the CDC and Extension Foundation on social media and interact with their EXCITE program promotion! Congratulations to EXCITE institutions for being highlighted on National Rural Health Day by our CDC partner! |

CDC Requests – Your Help Needed
CDC would like to hear from states that have used their Community Guides in their EXCITE programs to use as examples in a story. Please send a reply to KatieStofer@extension.org by November 30th if you have used either of these resources, and CDC will follow up with you for inclusion in the article. As a reminder, below are the Community Guides: The Community Guide in Action | The Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) |

Making a PI Change
As a reminder, PI and scope of work changes contractually must be approved as soon as possible by our Extension Foundation COO, even if a project is a subaward as in the case of some A2 projects. If we are not up-to-date on who is in charge of your projects, it’s harder to help support the projects and support the system through reporting to our funders and other partners. Please let us know if you need support in changing any of these project elements. Find the full process on the website or at this link. |

Thanks for your continued work on your projects, please let us know if you have any questions or how we can best serve you.
Best,
Michelle Rodgers Associate Dean and Director University of Delaware EXCITE Project Director
Kathryn “Katie” Stofer, PhD Assistant Project Director for Immunization Education, EXCITE Research Associate Professor and Extension Specialist University of Florida katiestofer@extension.org |
