New EXCITE Programming Opportunity

We are happy to announce additional EXCITE programming opportunities! This new phase of EXCITE will support adult immunization education beyond Covid-19 and increase vaccine confidence in our LGU Extension communities. This opportunity is open to all institutions, even if you are currently not involved with an EXCITE project.
Anyone interested in participating or learning more about this opportunity is welcome to the project introduction session on September 22nd at 3 PM ET. The project’s elements, timelines, and goals will be covered in this introductory session, along with any questions you may have. We are excited to share more about this great opportunity, made possible by the Extension’s outstanding efforts in carrying out immunization education in their communities. REGISTER HERE.

EXCITE at NEAFCS, National Tribal Health Conference, and APHA

If you’ll be at NEAFCS, and or the Tribal Leaders Conference in September, or the American Public Health Association Conference in October, come visit our EXCITE program team members who will be presenting at each. Also, let us know if you’ll be there even if you’re not presenting. Please email excite@extension.org if you are planning to attend any of these! We want to be sure to visit as well as help publicize everyone’s attendance.

Reminder for EXCITE teams presenting at conferences

We are thrilled to hear about the number of teams who are sharing their EXCITE work at conferences. If you would like assistance with review of your abstracts or presentation materials by the EXCITE team, please email EXCITE@Extension.Org with at least a week’s lead time. Please remember to include the funding acknowledgement and disclaimer below in your presentation poster or slides:

EXCITE is funded via a partnership between CDC and USDA. The information provided in this [slide deck] does not represent the views of either agency.”

A1 Monthly and A2 Program Quarterly Reports Due August 31st

August ends our current quarter, meaning program reports will be due. Report your progress and share your great work with CDC and NIFA here. As it is the end of a quarter, it is vital to get your reports in on time so we can collate them and submit our complete quarterly report to our funders. If you are in an A1 No Cost Extension period, please be sure to submit a monthly report up to and including the final month of your contract.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month

For information about all recommended vaccinations at every age and stage of life, visit CDC’s page promoting the campaign. Resources include information for educators working with healthcare professionals, resources for patients, and graphics and sample communication content. As flu season and school begin, we still have a week to celebrate this “month” and keep ourselves and loved ones protected.
