The Extension Foundation (EXF), in cooperation with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP), through an Interagency Agreement (IAA) with the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are funding the Cooperative Extension System (CES) for the COVID-19 Bridge program.  The Bridge program has two objectives:

  1. Increase awareness of eligibility of COVID-19 Bridge vaccine program for under and uninsured individuals 18 years and older; and
  2. Increase awareness of when and how to get a free updated COVID-19 vaccine through the Bridge Access Program.

Applying for EFNEP Bridge Program

    • EFNEP Bridge RFA & Application Guide
    • EFNEP Bridge Introduction- 0108 Webinar Slides
    • To facilitate your application, we suggest that you use the following steps:
      1. Contact your Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) immediately and provide them with the RFA
and your intent to apply. Most OSP will get the process started by just having the RFA and
      initiating the process.
      2. Contact your Extension Director and request a letter of support to be submitted with your
application. This will need to be shared as a PDF, so prepare accordingly.
      3. Make an editable copy of the RFA/Application Guide and begin to draft your response to the
      questions.
      4. Likewise, copy the budget template and draft a budget that aligns with your planned efforts.
Please review the sample budget template as guidance of appropriate categories. Allowable
costs include: salaries, travel reimbursement, supplies, display boards, health
history/vaccination records books, and marketing expenses– including social media, newspaper
ads, bus depot marketing, etc. Unallowable costs include: vaccine, medical personnel to provide
vaccine, incentives /promotional items such as gift cards, clothing, pens etc.
      5. Review your drafts with your institution’s OSP.
      6. Contact sponsoredprograms@extension.org for a 15-minute consult on your proposed budget.
This small step on the front end will likely reduce time on the back end, avoiding resubmissions
due to budget errors. This step can be critical for a timely award. You are welcome to include a
      OSP representative on this call.
      7. Submit the completed application as noted on the RFA in WizeHive. We will accept applications,
as soon as you are able to return them. The application hard deadline is 11:59 PM eastern on
April 24, 2024. If you have concerns about the turnaround time with your OSP office, please
contact Jackie Wilkins (jackiewilkins@extension.org). The application will receive a program and
      budget review.
      8. Await notification from Extension Foundation regarding your proposal and any action items. If
budget changes are needed, you will have ten days to revise.
