To use them effectively, you should be trained in a strength training program such as Stay Strong Stay Healthy, LIFT, or similar. How It Works (Delivery Methods)

  • These materials are designed to be integrated into existing strength training programs for older adults, supporting discussions around preventive health, immunization, and overall wellness alongside physical activity sessions.

Training / Certification

  • Already a certified strength training instructor?
    If you are currently certified in an Extension strength training program (e.g., Stay Strong Stay Healthy, LIFT, StrongWomen), you will complete a short online module to learn how to integrate the immunization materials into your program. After completing the form you’ll be guided to the appropriate next steps and gain access to materials and training module.

    Not yet certified?
    To implement this curriculum, you will need to complete training in a strength training program for older adults (such as Stay Strong Stay Healthy or a similar program).

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will improve physical health through exercises that increase strength, balance, and flexibility.
  2. Participants will empower older adults to incorporate exercise and physical activity into their daily lives.
  3. Participants will improve self-ecacy for exercise and falls among older adults.
  4. Participants will enhance the understanding and application of key health and wellness concepts for older adults, focusing on nutrition for healthy aging and promoting immunity through lifestyle choices and vaccine education.
